Rhetrostat-
I was wondering what happend when I was turning my trip meter.

Backlighting-
Those crazy Germans over engineering... Saftey factor of 5, done!

The taking out of park thing-
It bothers me that someone can simply break my window, put it in neutral and push it down a hill. But that chances of that happening - slim... I hope...

Pick your side parking lights-
If the parking lights are going to be on, why not have both on? I would find it more usefull if it was for the headlights. Then I could wink at people with my car. ;)

Power antenna-
Yes, mine is broken in half. And the motor don't work, so I am not to happy about having to replace it. A simple fixed antenna would have worked fine and would not cost as much to replace. Aside from that, 85chedeng300D explained part of the reason why I thougth the power antenna was silly. Why do you need a continuouly variable range for the antenna? If your felling kinda down that day, you can put it up only one third of the way? Or if your really happy, but not the happiest you have ever been, you can put it up fifteen sixteenths of the way up? A simple all the way up or all the way down switch would have worked fine.

Brake lights-
I had a brake line blow yesterday (thank God no one was in front of me) and I replaced it after work. I fixed the line, bleed the system (amazing fact: you can gravity bleed the rears!), and then had my friend go up in the car and step on the brake so I could check for leaks. He stepped on the brake and no lights. Its not really a complaint, but ever other vehicle I have ever delt with will turn the brake lights on when you step on the brake with the key off. Thought it was weird, thats all.

Forty bucks for a fold-up door mounted cup holder!! At least you can get it color matched to your interior and it is door mounted so it should not splash into your consol switchs.

Still 40 bucks! Think I'm gonna check out West Marine, pretty sure I saw a similar holder for around 10-15 bucks and I could spray paint the dang thang.

The consol box thing = no arm rest = no good for me, I'm a leaner. Really the H2O bladder is starting to sound better and better.

Lucky in a "bad" way

One "benefit" of having manual seats in my w124 is that the distance between the handle to slide the seat and the seat itself is perfect to hold a 20 oz soda or the medium-large sized cups from fast food places.

As far as antennas go, I would love to have a power one. My fixed mast one makes it impossible to take the car to the car wash. It seems to require a special tool to remove.. On the bright side, I have started to enjoy (hell it is starting to become an obsession) washing/polishing/waxing etc myself. :D

If you have both parking lights on you would drain the battery twice as fast.

You know these extra features are why MB's cost twice as much as your basic pos.

The thing I dislike the most is the black hole crevasse of doom on the driver's side of the engine. It seems to SUCK EVERYTHING INTO IT! I have to plug the whole area with rags whenever I change out GP's.

Yes, unless you have too much air in the line. Mine would just dribble a trickle. I needed to have someone stomp the pedal as I opened and closed the bleed screw. After I got all the air out, the reservoir went from full down to the low mark with only pushing out a little bit of fluid!

Haha, yeah I spent quite a bit of time cleaning between there with that narrow attachment on your vacuum and a really long screw driver. Fun stuff...

Yeah, Its only a trickle, but if your not in a hurry, people tell me gravity bleeding is the best way to bleed. I was in no hurry.
