Ah, I just switch feet when I take the SDL on long trips. Since I repaired the driver seat it's SO much easier on my back driving.

It's just one of those things that irritates me that doesn't work.

Did the check for the switch.......did not do the check for the speedo. Need to run the car in gear and monitor some type of signal.........not sure it it's AC or not. Probably ought to sort that out.

Whoa, wait a minute. So the gauge cluster has to work 100% for the cruise to work?

As for the paint work, start reading up on it before playing with it. I've started to primer my SD here so it looks half decent to drive about. With the '86+ headlamps it looks nice already, but with some new powdercoated wheels and tinted glass I think it'll be sharp even in primer

Use an HVLP spray gun. PPG paint seems to do the best job on color matching.
Base coat, clear coat type paint. Jams are easy.
1) Pre cleaner solvent. use two rags, 1 wet 1 dry.
2) Mask off stickers and such that you want to keep.
3) They make scotch pads for automotive use. The red ones are the right grit for door jams.
4) Mask off all areas you dont want painted. Use making paper, not newspaper. Modern clearcoats go right through newspaper.
5) Spray base coat, 2 coats.
6) 1 hour later spray jam clear. jam clear dries alot faster then standard, about 30 minutes. Jam clear is not UV and chemical resistant so is not for exterior.

You can dye the palomino black and maroon to match

Sixto
I would not recommend you to get black interiors.
and the painting must be done right, particularly for black, to look right.
Black cars look cool but they are a burden to keep clean, and black reflective surfaces show more the defect of the sheet metal than any other color.

Keep the color stock

One last thing for a person in texas that lived in arizona for many years. AC works definitively better in a lighter color car!
