No affiliation with this sale. Just came across it in my routine diesel looking. Looks nice.

Sub 100k mi 83 300SD just popped up on Denver CL, $1500. Looks like a NYC car so rust may be an issue, especially since it doesn't have factory paint on it...

https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/1983-mercedez-benz-300sd/6638226243.html

I tried to talk the wife into it as a new one for her, but have to get her a AWD Audi wagon . Very tired of working on the VAG cars. Hopefully somebody at least saves the drivetrain if it really is that low mileage.

Those wheels look like Ronal, and could be worth a bunch. They may even be 15". I actually have a friend that lives in Centennial, and I can have him check it out.......Rich

This is probably the nicest condition 300SD I have ever seen, and it's local to me: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/d/sd-showroom-condition/6642672425.html $17,995 for this one.

Ive never done it, but apparently fairly standard for subwoofer placement. I'm not sure if it would work any better in a 116... it's not really viable in a 123 at least...

Yep, subwoofer. Sometimes in W116s people put them in under the rear window in the spot where the first aid kit would go.

Thumbs down Speakers In Trunks /Under Seats

.....Are stupid plain and simple .

They cause muffled sound, the idea of better speakers is better sound quality unless you're mentally deficient .

"You canna change Science, Jim !" .

Where's a good place to mount a subwoofer? I always see them mounted in the trunk with the exception of one I've seen installed under the rear window. It seems there aren't a lot of places a large subwoofer can be placed.
