Ha! If you go to look at the car, he'll probably say, "Can't be driven due to bad caliper." hiding the fact that the transmission is also bad. But, hey, he made a fast $2,000... Oh, sorry, I forgot to add the "*****"s at the end. Also, the interior color looks like pinkomino.

Talking White Coupe

Good thing it's too far away ! .

I'd prolly grind the price down and buy it, then I'd have a nice pair of white W123's....

Agreed, I bet the brake problem is much more serious or is masking some other fault .

Well guys, I have failed you. I ended up getting a 2000 E320 Wagon for a steal of $1500.

I would love a Diesel, but they're more than double the asking price.

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

Failed? Why? The M112 is one of the best engines MB ever made and the w210 is an excellent wagon. Early 2000s MBs are an absolute bargain right now.

Oh okay!

After driving a W210 I can see why Jake (Jake12tech) adores them, my brother says it too "new" to him and he realized his desire for a W124.

Maybe I'll get pics of it up.

I cringe thinking people pay $1500 for BEAT UP Civic's, Corola's, and Altima's, that's another story.

After owning w124 and w210 diesels I was looking for w211 wagon when I stumbled upon a w203 wagon with a trans stuck in limp mode for $1100. it lacks the interior space of the w210 or w211 but it's so much fun to drive. The m112 and m113 cars engines from this era are extremely reliable and easy to service and run just fine on 87 octane.

Exclamation AVOID THIS CAR!!!!

I personally visited and inspected this 1993 300D.

https://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/d/1993-mercedes-300d-turbo/6610129548.html

Problems, engine was knackered, specifically the throttle linkage, but even worse was the JB weld sealing injector #4 to the head.

I saw this one coming from how he was describing the car in a running state, I immediately knew I wasted my time.

Cylinder #5 was stone DEAD, the engine shook VIOLENTLY in the car, so much so I didn't even want to test drive it. The door handle and seat controls where completely destroyed. The wooden trim was decimated all over. Lots of random JUNK and trash filled every cavity of the vehicle except the drivers seat. You literally couldn't sit in the passenger seat, trunk was destroyed as well and filled with crap.

The body is also in poor shape.

The car was driven into the ground and received ZERO care, it's a parts car.
I like how he took my potential diagnosis of the engine and ran with it. I told him cylinder #5 could be dead because of low compression or if he was LUCKY, an injector, injector being an optimistic, hell naive diagnosis.

Before I left I showed him what an OK running OM603 should sound of behave, I opened the hood and started her up.

I told hijcould swap injectors to see if it's fuel or compression related, then told him to get a compression check and contact me again with results, he has yet to respond...

For $1,300? CHRIST!

Post 'Barn Find' 240D

I see more than 'rust' on the driver's side door there, I'm betting no title either

Still and all, for $500 it might be worth some effort .

New projector headlights, sport springs, wheel spacers, tinted windows and a whole lot of other work later, yeah it's not half bad.

Title on cars this old is not a problem around here- none needed.

Run away screaming. The M137 is a hunk of garbage. Mercedes gave up on it after a few years because it was such a failure. The ''valve cover leaks'' is probably the oil cooler leak that plagues these engines. That thing is a parts car at best.
