320CDI might replace my 300TD

Well I am just in love with the new 320CDI; I've been driving one every chance I get. Shabby may be on its way to my granola lawyer sister in WPB, Fl. if I can pursuade the queen of the house.
I have joined Carlton Mercedes-Benz here in Greenville, SC. Please drop me a note or stop by if I can help you with your new or pre-owned MB purchase.

they will pretend to give you something but in reality they wont. best bet is to sell your car outright and negotiate the best deal you can on the newer car.

I've never driven a CDI but I imagine they are awesome cars, though the electronics are somewhat scary. Even the brakes are electronic! A while back I was tempted to sell my '96 and Jetta to get a used CDI for a few thousand more, but decided against it. Used CDI's are now dropping into the $30,000's. But I will always have a W123 diesel. To me that car is simply not replaceable.

Cool. Get Euro delivery if you are buying a new one. Then you can ring it out on the Autobahn and have a cool trip in the process.

When will the CDI wagons hit our shores? Not interested in a sedan.

I just got my W123, so I'm now looking forward to buying a CDI in 2024.

I don't know about the wagons and I'm not interested, but I might be interested if DC started importing more of its diesels, like the lower displacement E-class CDI's (220 and 270 I believe they have) and the C-class CDI's, especially if they came with a manual tranny. The E320 CDI has way more power than I would need and the new ones cost more than I'd be willing to spend.

Good friend of mine just dumped his Volvo for a 2005 E320 CDI and can't believe the responsiveness and economy...

I told him the economy gets even better when you use WVO...

Now I just need to hit him up to let me drive it...

Hmmm didn't know you could run WVO in a CDI. From my understanding you can't even run B100 in one.

I think Willie Nelson runs B100 in his CDI. I don't know about WVO. I wouldn't experiment with such a viscous fuel in such an expensive cars with all those sensors and electronics!

If the E320CDI isn't fast enough MB makes the E400CDI. The new V6 diesel has a lot of power though, unless you are coming from an E430, or an E55 it should feel like a rocket.

I test drove the e320 and loved it. I want one. Maybe when the 06 models are used enough to get one under 20K. Besides, we have to wait to see if there will be any issues, don't we? Things like cracked heads, bent rods, weak spring perches etc etc.

I really want a newer diesel Benz but I don't know which year(s) would be the best. I think the 06 must be the most powerful to date, no?
