I'm trying to order some parts for my '90 300D 2.5 Turbo, but there are two types for two different engine number ranges.

Where can I find my engine number? I don't have the slip in the owners manual where many say it would be printed. Thanks.

IIRC it's stamped in a horizontal surface on the block extension that the IP attaches to.

Is it just bellow the head, behind the injection pump? (Driver's Side)

I'm having a hard time finding it, I cleaned off the engine in hopes of it being behind the dirt/oil, but no luck. I'll keep searching.

If it's the original engine, try a service like http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/view.html to determine the engine number based on the VIN.
