Engine mount shocks
Is the 240D supposed to have engine mount shock absorbers? I cant see any on mine. It's an 81.

No ( edit I was wrong, see my post below for the picture of the shock)
Below the oil pan attached to the frame below the engine is an "engine stop" which is only on the 240D. Look it up in the online Service manual for adjustment Dave

i thought the 240s had one shock.

I have a 39 Studebaker Coupe Express pickup in which I have had installed a 617 turbo and a five speed manual.  [SIGPIC]..I also have a 427 Cobra replica with an aluminum chassis.

My sister's car does not have any engine shocks. It is also a w123 240D manual transmission. It just has the two soft rubber engine mounts and the tiny t-shaped mount at the rear of the oil pan.
I remember reading in a shop manual that the manual transmission 240D's did not have the shocks, but I can't find that at the moment. I've thought about adding them, but haven't done much research to figure out if they can/ should be added.
