Slick, as I understand MB is going to be installing their motor in place of the Cummins in the HD Diesel Ram trucks.

Nope. Cummins has a contract with dodge for the next several years. There is even a 6.7L Cummins option in the 3500 Chassis cab model.

The ML SUV sold in Europe usually had the diesel, they are well accepted there, and common in most sedans and wagons too, and in most makes like GM of Europe, Ford, VW, Peugeot, and others.

Hrm, I read that somewhere about them going to the MB diesel.

I wish. The sprinter is the only Dodge that has a MB branded engine. Freightliner is moving quite a few MBE900's and MBE4000's in their trucks.

They are going to be selling a diesel powered Wrangler - but not in the US.
That is the vehicle I want, would even buy one new.

yep my school bus had a "Powered By Mercedes Benz" on the side of the hood with a nice star.. and this was a freightliner body bus

I have been seeing Semi's and work trucks/school busses all over the place with that "Powered by Mercedes-Benz" emblem. Pretty cool

I am assuming they all have either the MBE900 or MBE4000 engines. *drool

i wrote here that they were putting mb engines in the dodges in 07. i read that in a mag a couple of years ago. so maybe they have changed their mind. could have been in negotiations with cummins at the time.

actually i dont see the cummins as a step down from a mb motor.

my 03 is just getting broke in at 52k, has oodles of power to pull my 9000 # travel trailer and gets over 20mpg driving empty on the highway at 80 mph.

what is not to like there? i have been to the dealer twice for seepage of coolant around plugs in the head...nothing else.

my ac is waning though.

but i am yet to change a brake pad.

the diesel jeep is interesting. those jeeps have good suspensions under them, for a truck.
