trany filter
Hi Dunl,
I bought a 'kit' with a very good rubber gasket and a wack of other stuff, online from Drivewire. I may have paid too much (25.68 usd for the kit) but gotta be cheaper than 'Lonestar Mercedes' in Calgary(who really hosed me on a waterpump before I knew better) . I also bought just a wack of parts from Mercedes Source (also online, Seatle I think), they gave very complete and courtious service. I may again not have gotten the very cheapest deal on a few of the parts but was very very happy with the way it all went through. Only about half of the online US parts guys will bother to ship to Canada. Sure would be nice if Phil here would, Oh well, guess that's his call. I'm in High River 1/2 hour south of Calgary Alberta Luthier |

Canadian parts sources
If you search on my postings you will find an extensive set of Canadian based MB parts outfits or good outfits in the US, such as **************.com near Seattle, that will ship to Canadian customers.
Interestingly the posting I put up was in response to a question from another owner in Alberta. Unfortunately it's been my experience that at least 50% of US based parts operations won't ship outside the US due to "policy" (like Phil) or charge crazy shipping rates. I was quoted $65 US to ship a mirror for my Mazda MPV by an online parts outfit using UPS overland (the cost to the seller was probably about $12-$15, rest is profit) in Calif. ... easy decision, went to the dealer in Toronto. I guess it's too easy to make money in the US parts business and they don't need the orders........ |
