Auxillary Fans
The auxillary cooling fans were working fine two weeks ago when I inspected the A/C at the beginning of the season. The fans stopped working this weekend and I found a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and ran the A/C only to blow the fuse again when the temperature reached the point to start the fans.
The fans spin freely by hand. Any idea what could be tripping the fuse?

Unplug the fan, the cable goes down along the support to a connector, then drive the car and see if it blows a fuse. Or bypass across the thermo switch if you know which one it is.
If the fuse remains OK then most likely you have a shorted fan, the brushes are probably worn down and touching ground inside the motor. This is a fairly common problem with old fans.

Is it possible to unplug only one fan to isolate which of the two fans may be bad or are they wired together in a series? Do you know where the plug in connector is located?
