Yes. If having sense in the first place is a problem, it solves it.

That must be like a 22,000+ btu window unit! It has a 240Volt cord going into that generator on the trunk!! Wow...then again, that setup would probably cost LESS than a complete repair for our car's A/C systems....

3,500 watt generator, about $399 new 22,000btu beast-of-a-window-ac unit, about $449, so around $800 for what the guy did, and I bet he got the stuff used. Wow, I bet its pretty nice in there with that thing on! I can hear red-green praising him right about now.

I dont think that that is a 240 volt plug, it looks more like a regular heavy duty 3 pronged 120volt plug to me.

small

i think thats a small 110v window ac... i knew a guy in nags head
who owned a bunch of theatres... he had a small ac like that in a closet
to keep his candy cool... and it would really cool it down.... I bet
it gets near freezing in that car.

Yeah I think your right, I just looked at the pic closer, I am used to the generators we sell at my work, they have the 240v outlets up on the side panel like that, and the 120's down lower. I bet that system still works though....even though it probably costs a lot to operate...those generators EAT gas when running under a heavy load like that, plus its on an old american battleship V8 sedan, sheesh.

Actually in theory he's gaining about 5-6hp, A/C compressors really sap power off the engine. Plus if you add the 6-8 hp that generator probably has....

Red-Green is a god. Is that a Japanese newbie heart on the car??? I did not see any duct-tape, red-green may not be happy about that .

I wonder how a roof a/c unit, like those found on RVs, would work on top of a car.....

Oh, by the way, Nags Head, NC was named after my ex-mother-in-law. That's my "claim to fame"....

The pic isn't loading anymore, is it just me?

Anyway considering how poor the AC systems are in MB's in general, this could be a solution. Nice cool AC, you can buy decent window sets all day long for $100.
