Here's more part numbers for mounting clips.

W126
1268900014

W124/W140/W201
1408900014

Looking at the EPC charts, it seems that for the Euro W114/115s and W116s and previous models that the warning triangles were not mounted on the trunk lid for stowage, but in a plastic container, which is included when you order from the surplus website.

I also bit the bullet and got one for the SD.

I bought one for the 300D back in December as a birthday gift to myself, and I got it at a good price on eBay. Nobody else bid on it, I honestly thought I wouldn't get it, but then I got the e-mail I won the auction.

Great!

Awesome Benzboy

Now I don't have to feel bad about having it "not stock"

Not that it really mattered...

I might jury rig something to fit anyhow. It looks cooler

Question Warning Triangle

I own a 79' 300 SD 116. Does anyone know if the warning triangle will mount in the deck lid like on the 126?

Hmm

No idea...but since our cars are a similar vintage, and lots of my W115 parts have W116 on them, I would think there was no mounting place.

I have one for my 123 and Phil at Fastlane gave me the part # for a 116. I switch back and forth for road trips. The part #1408900014 and is only a few bucks .

Original, German military issue METAL warning triangles.

Just ordered one! Check it out.
What happened to the cheap triangles? Is it a mirage? I do not see it on the website any more. Anybody ordered and received one?

I ordered two and never heard from them. I need to double check; but I'm 95% sure that my credit card was never billed for them. Oh well..

German Army surplus

For those of you wanting to know what the $20 German Army surplus road hazard triangle looks like, here is the Gebra Warndreieck mounted.

The base is thicker than the original so there's interference with the middle trunk support. I was in the process of fabricating mounts for the bottom to drop it lower to clear the beam and decided to see if the 1/4 inch x 2&1/2 inch bolts would fit through the holes on the triangle base and bam, add some rubber hose to keep the bolts from rubbing on the trunk frame and you've got a sturdy mounted warning triangle.

I figured this German military triangle was good enough for my German trunk. If you enjoy spending a fraction of the price of neat functional accessories, give this a try, you can get them from amazon.

Too bad a standard w123 clip would not work with this triangle, it's too thick and might be a bit tall.

But nice functional job!
