Also it would be lovely to share the mods with us . A "modest" 190D with a 601@220hp and A/C running WVO is quite a dream car .
sorry the typo, car of the topic has something else than OM601.

there's one OM601 dynoed 230hp, daily driver. today ball park is more likely 250hp, since there's been some more mods after the dyno run. i don't see any reason why it cannot have A/C or run with WVO.

the usual stuff: bigturbo, modified IP and intercooler. that gives up to 75hp/cylinder. only problem is that OM601 is not turbo engine at the beginning. to make OM601 last for longer than one pull, lot of internal mods required.

Yup that's what I wanted to know, and I bet everyone else, what are those "lot of internal mods" . Or they weren't done to this specific car?

To be clear here, I'm fairly certain the vehicle in that video wasn't running an OM601 engine, though it apparently was originally badged as a 200D. To get that kind of acceleration in a heavy sedan, the engine must surely be either an OM603 or OM606.

I have a pump sitting on my workbench right now, just waiting for the $$$ to be freed up...hopefully sometime in the next few months. Myna can expect my call. Do you know of a Finnish source for a custom exhaust header?

Finn spec got a little better time 11.92@127. Still slow start but after that pulls like a train

Trivia: Listen the RPM, what do you think? More than standard 4600?

There's just few. OM617 is not that high performance oriented as OM60x family engines.

Some pics of a Finnish W123 diesel with turbo and compressor:
