Odd request: How does the fuel line enter the IP?

I'm brainstorming a few top-secret ideas right now, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how the fuel line enters the IP. Is it a barbed fitting? Threaded? An inquiring mind wants to know!

Assuming that the model in question is the one pictured, the fuel line attaches to a barbed banjo fitting. The fitting attaches to the IP via a hollow bolt, sealed with two metal seal washers.

It uses a banjo fitting like the ALDA boost line on the intake. The line is hard plastic, but peel it off and it's a barb fitting underneath.

Humm, what could it be? Fuel heater? Fuel cooler? Electric pump to take place of the lift pump? Fuel pressure gauge?
