87 300SDL... What do you think?
Hey guys,
What do you think of this 300SDL on eBay? I'm in Las Vegas and I'm thinking of driving out to take a look/test drive.... Here's the link... Lemme know...

With 268K and a bunch of things that don't work.......including the a/c and sunroof...........with a $5,500 reserve............I've got just one thing to say:

Starting at $5500? Seems a bit pricey for an 87' with 268K. I would say more like $3500 seems reasonable. It is a very nice looking car however.

Here is an SDL in San Francisco for $4500: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/car/189983574.html Says new engine installed! Warning! I believe I see a pack Of Marlboros on the console, it could be a stinking car owned by a heavy smoker. I had to pass up on a 260E with a nice 5 speed in it because of that!  No way would I sit in that car more than 15 seconds

The Dash has a cover in one picture which usually means cracks. If the car has a new compressor & hoses, how come it needs to be recharged? The Becker radio looks like it has cigarette ash over it - definitely a smokers car.
A good car at $3500 maybe, but not at $5500 with what could be expensive issues unresolved.
