Need Injection Pump, '96 E300D

After two months of struggling we removed the injection pump from my '96 E300D and sent it to a rebuild shop. The shop is saying the pump is totally shot, not rebuildable. I understand new pumps are about $2,200. Are there any alternative sources that people have confidence in. I looked at the "Buy Parts" tab at the top of the MercedesShop page, they don't seem to have the complete pump, just a gasket for it.

Try these two suppliers:

http://www.benzbonz.biz/

Hope this helps.

What took that pump out? How many miles on the car?

Injection Pump failure

I tried vegetable oil, although I was not using it when the pump failed. That may have done it. Car only has 160,000 miles. I installed a Fattywagons filter and injector heaters before I used the WVO.

Inter Auto Parts and Benz Bonz

Gary;

Thanks. I work in San Diego and I actually went to Inter Auto Parts a few days ago. They say this is a dealer only part, they just have a gasket for it. I sent an e-mail Benzbonz.

So it was the pump afterall. I guess VO will do that sometimes, especially if it's unheated and viscous. Good luck with it.

There are several injections pumps on ebay, don't know if they will fit your model you might want to check them out.

What are you planning to do with this pump, if in fact it's non-rebuildable? If you don't have any direct plans, I'd like a chance to dissect and analyze if possible. I could post some pics if I find obvious signs of the problem. Might be instructive for others to see the damage. Let me know.

Dissect pump

When I get it back I will contact you.

Phil is certainly able to get a rebuilt pump. Remember the stuff Fastlane has online is but a small percentage of what Phil is able to get. He can get literaly any part for any MB, try and stump him. :D

Phil

I don't know who Phil is. I have contacted everyone who has been mentioned here and no one has it or knows where I can get it.

Click the "Buy Parts" tab. Call 1-888-333-4642 and ask Phil.
