'81 240D man. 4-speed shudder when cold

My '81 240D manual 4speed shudders when starting out in first gear for the first few shifts. After it's warm, it no longer shudders.

I regularly change the fuel filters. Could it be glow plugs? Is there a manual transmission filter?

Have you tried a higher rev release of the clutch or a longer clutch pedal release time?

Does the shudder go away when the throttle is increased? You should have some adjustment with the idle adjusment knob. My cars need he extra revs when cold to get out of the underground garage otherwise they'll die and roll backwards into the gate

Mine does that.

Somebody said they fixed it by changing the motor mounts, here:http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/119663-juddering-clutch-solved.html

It still shudders even with a longer clutch release/higher engine rev.

Engine and tranny mounts..... For obvious reasons the entire engine shakes more cold than hot, check the flex disc too.

same thing happens to my 240D, i just do longer, higher revs. it seems to do the trick until it warms up
