For those that curse the Mercedes cracked dashes/bodies/having to do seat repair after 20 years and 200,000 plus miles, please take a look at this.

You will feel better about whatever you drive after viewing, the level of absurdity is nearly unparalled.

Two grand - I sold my one owner first model year Lexus for that with half the miles and basically everything near perfect compared to that...

I just love this quote:

"The Maxima for its year was meant to be a luxury car and was built accordingly."

"Now, for the not so good; turn signals and hand brake not working (also, the car drives well, but these other items would help to bring more comfort) cracked windshield, seats and dash, some minor rust at seams (rear), needs an alignment, could use shocks, need to slam drivers door to close completely, ding in trunk lid."

Don't let this luxury car pass you by!!!

I think the OBO will be a big player.
There are worse things out there a person could buy. Engine bay, while dirty, was very interesting and not all that bad.
What on God's green planet earth is up with those pillow-top type seats.
And isn't there something impressive about a shifter with a 2 foot throw......
I think it would be fun to own, but that interior would be quite the project......

Its worth $100 if it drives down the street. Would be a fun car to beat if it could be purchased for close to nothing.

That's similar to a Hong Kong taxi except it's got a 5 speed "on the tree" but retains all the same sleek lines as one

I wouldn't go overboard on ridicule for this car. I used to own a 1983 Maxima model 810 diesel with a five speed and still regret selling it. I even tried to track it down later with the hope of getting it back. The build quality on the early 80s Maximas was very good. The engines and other mechanicals are excellent and easy to work on The electrical systems are especially good as is characteristic with Nissans. The rear drive Maxima diesels are becoming quite rare and the sticks even more so. Mine was solid and practically flawless. A clean one would fetch 2K now without a problem.
