couple things

i am doing majow work on my 81 300sd with about 400k on the block

once i get done these things i need to solve...

the first issue is that there are times when i have seriously wet carpet behind the passenger seat...have no clue...

second issue is the tachometer works only when it wants to....

the issue that kills me the most is that i have no hazard lights....after changing switch, fuses, relay behind dash....is there another relay by the fuse box that i am missing?

i'll take any and all hints/suggestions...

For the water leak check the rubber boot that encloses the wires that go into the right rear door from the door jamb. The chances are good that they are cracked and leak water into the floor.

You got turn signals? I'm thinking if you got turn signals, then your relay may be good...no relay, no signals. My hazzard switch has a "sweet spot".....try a little wiggle action on the switch, small rocking motion....don't ask me why, I've cleaned. greased and still have to fondle the switch to get it to work.

Water in the pass back seat is often caused by clogged hood drains and a rotted out battery tray. Clean the drians real good and look at the firewall behind the battery. Thats where mine leaked and it soaked the pass side foor every time till I fixed it.
