New RV - Wrong Fuel!

Bout a month ago I was driving cross-country, back to NH from AZ. I was somewhere on I-40 in Tennessee refueling my new Pleasure-Way Class-B on a Sprinter diesel chassis at a Flying -J truckstop. Next to me pulls up a New Fleetwood Discovery Motorhome - straight from the factory and its being delivered to the dealer by an independant company (Sticker in window stated it was in-transit and not for hire). Anyway I notice the driver is putting Reg. unleaded gas in the tank. This is a high-end diesel RV! So I ask the guy if his rig is indeed a diesel, he nods yes, then I point out hes putting RUG in the tank and he tells me that no, he is indeed putting diesel into it. So I figure well I guess Im wrong when all of a sudden this Bozo stops the fill and runs into the store. He was indeed putting RUG into this rig. I finished, left the pump and pulled into a parking space to watch what he does next. After a few minutes, he comes out gets in the rig and drives back out to the interstate. Guessing at the lenght of time he was there, he had to have put at least 40 gals of RUG into the tank. I never saw him bak out on the road so I dont know what happened to him. Imagine the poor schlub that plunks down $300K for that rig sometime in the near future! YUCK!!!

depends on how much diesel was in the tank and how far he drove it. a small percentage of gas prob wont hurt too much if not driven too far.

but my lovely #3 daughter filled my 74 240 with newly rebuilt motor up with rug on a half tank of diesel and drove about two hours before it wouldnt go any further. scored cylinders, cracked head.

they run too hot on gasoline.
