How do you get to the reverse swich?

I am going on a trip tomorow and would like to get it fixed before I go. My car is an 83 240d

If its a stick shift 240D then it's right there under the boot, very simple and mechanically/manually operated. Automatics have a separate internal mechanism thats combined with neutral safety switch underneath the tranny attached to wiring harness, a bit more complicated.
