Blue MBtex

Both my MBs have tan interior.

I've seen the blue MBtex interior of other cars.

I can't bring myself to consider a car with the blue MBtex and carpetting.

Do others actually prefer the blue interior?

Love, LOve, LOVe, LOVE the blue interior-- except the cracked dash.

Blue dashes crack more readily, it seems-- every car my family has owned that has had blue interior(my mother is also a fan, we have had 4 total) has gotten a crack on the dash in around 10 years.

The blue is very nice with a white exterior, much moreso than a tan interior or a black interior in the same white car-- Black(which it seems most really like) always reminds me of a vintage VW(read: cheap)

The only thing I would like more would be the european models cloth/vinyl combination in pea green-- on the off white exterior(NOT bile yellow, but off white)

Oh yeah, and since we are talking about interiors-- it is ALL about the old style interiors with knotweave carpets(are they wool, or synthetics?) and maleficent headrests-- those 'refreshed' interiors look cheaper than the original.

Cracking dashboards

I've heard people post about Blue dash's cracking worse than black ones. I have to say my experience with Mercedes has been that theres no difference. I'm on my fourth Mercedes. All of them have had black dashes. From my observation it depends exclusively on how much sun they have had. My current one is the worst. Spent its entire life in the South Western deserts and it's dash looks like canyonlands.

Blue has never been my favorite interior, but I like the dark interior of my '85. On the exterior, I've always favored darker cars.

Usually blue interior costs 15 points on a 100-point scale to me when evaluating potential purchases. Red costs about 40 points.

I prefer a light-colored interior. It's easier to find something dropped on the floor and easier to work on stuff under the dash (you can see better). On the negative side, dirt is more likely to show on a light color. However, my current ride came with the blue MB-Tex (and a cracked dash pad) and I find it suprisingly acceptable. The exterior is "smoke silver metallic" (that's what M-B calls it).

interior colors.

Eye of the beholder kind of thing I guess. One thing I have noticed is the 82 240d of mine has a black interior and tends to make the cabin feel much smaller. On the otherhand the 79 240d with palimino interior seems much larger. This effect is quite pronounced in my opinion.

Blue is awesome

I had a white 240D 4 speed with blue interior, probably a twin to INeons. Sunroof that worked too!. All I can say is the blue interior is really slick, always looks good, and the MB Tex wears insanely well. Palomino..ick..after 20 years its pinkomino...with the goofy shades of pink going together on the seat..

The 300D right now has Bamboo..which is like a dark tan. I like this a lot.

I'd kill for a Euro sage green interior, cloth with the MB tex seating inserts. Make the exterior Caledonian green as well

It seems to me that the darker color interior, like blue or black really makes the wood inserts stand out well.

I like the blue. Wish I could've found one when I was looking for a TD.

The palomino looks good if not faded like my '85 TD, but its so common.

I've got the red in my 240 and with a yellow exterior it looks awful. I know the red is rare but its rare for a reason. UGLY. Plain and simple. The car was given to me so I can't complain.

Cheers,

Bill
