im going to be swapping the interior out of a 79 240D into an 83 300D... sounds fun eh

Maybe another project?
Plenty of w123s on the internet to
keep you busy for awhile.

Or do this on a semi-professional basis and
repair fellow w123 owners cars for a reasonable
price(not free).
Plenty of them around too.
I'm in need of extensive rust repair and living in
an apartment I have no acess to a welder or garage
and so a body shop is the only way to go for me but
would cost me an arm an a leg.
So count me in as your first costumer.

But there is certainly no need to feel sad, depressed or bored.
Hanging on the forum here and telling us in detail about
your fixes and restorations should make you feel so much
better.
You can count on all of us for moral support and words
of encouragement to help you get thru this.

I once read where you should never set a goal for yourself WITHOUT having set another goal to be accomplished AFTER the first one (and so on, and so on). Reason being just what's happening to you right now...and that kinda makes sense. You're sorta lost, set a new goal, be happy. We are happy for you, so the least you can do is not spoil it for us!! ;)

I went through the same thing when I graduated from grad school, then I bought Maxine (1990 420 SEL) slightly neglected by her po 7000.00 worth of neglect and thats not the body work either....

I'm just the opposite, I'm over the hump with the SDL. Just need body work, new wood, redo the front seats, and a few projects. Nothing nuts just the high dollar cosmetic stuff left.

I ask myself if I will ever take on another project like this. At this time no, at this point in my life I am more interested in doing other things. I'd rather not spend my weekends or week nights working on a car.

So for now no more projects, I'll probably do a boat next. But no time soon that’s for sure.

I can't see myself doing another car for a very long time, and it would have to be something really special. Like an old 911, Ferrari, XKE ect. I want something I can actually get a small part of my money back.

Well, if not having anything to work on the W123 makes you depressed, there are options.

1. What else interests you? Find something to do related to that. Like for example, I like aviation in addition to MBs, so sometimes I'll go to the airport and do some plane spotting.

2. There's always meds? (legal ones!) ;)

3. Purposely break stuff so you'll have to repair it (whoops! silly me, I broke the windshield with this hammer).:D

I'm taking up golf!:eek: :D You should give it a try, very relaxing and hard enough to keep me interested.

Plus since you have a MB its the perfect car to take!:D

Carrameow, how was it swapping out the steering box? I might be doing that fairly soon.
