Here's my latest, I had better get started tomorrow
240D To do list Fix paint chips Weld in rust patch panel and paint Rustproof trunk Rustproof Door corners Rustproof Trunk seal area Repaint trunk Check underbody for rust Fix Vegetable oil system Replace Pollak valves with solenoids Clean under tank and reinstall Rewire for new solenoids Check Timing chain stretch Fix sunroof Install new cable Install new motor Install new felt seals Lube Adjust height Paint wind deflector Install AC Belt Have AC checked Have front end checked |
To do list: Est. completion: hopefully by Jan. 2007.
1. Find out which ACC component is leaking vacuum and replace it (if it's not that center pod, if so, I'll have my indy do the "engatwork" mod) 2. Replace door lock actuator on the rear driver's side door 3. Replace trunk, and door weatherstripping 4. Remove front seats and clean under them 5. Replace steering damper, strut rod bushings, control arm bushings, left upper control arm, and right upper control arm (indy job) 6. Get alignment (indy job) 7. Find refrigerant leak, fix, and have A/C system totally evacuated, replace drier and expansion valve, and recharge. |
1. change the oil
2. change the transmission fluid 3. check other miscellaneous fluids 4. change air filter 5. check hoses and belts 6. repair tears in seats 7. repair fuel level gauge (if anyone knows anything about these, pm me or reply) 8. replace door seals 9. repair rust spots 10. repaint chipped paint 11. clean floor mats 12. steam clean engine 13. find the leak in vacuum for door locks 14. fix transmission gear backlighting 15. replace u.s. headlamps with euro's (thinking about it) |

Get a new alternator, hooking up the battery charger is getting to be a pain!

fix rear wiper....I hate electrical work
fix the tach.....I hate electrical work have roof repainted....goes in the shop this week, I hope drive the heck outta it new radio, antena, speakers...distant future down to the short rows now! |
My never ending list... :)
Here's my to do list:
1) Valve check/adjustment 2) Timing chain stretch measurement 3) Valve cover gasket R&R 4) Replace all belts 5) Flush break lines 6) Change rear diff fluid 7) Oil change 8) Trans fluid & filter change 9) Fix rusty patch panel & paint 10) Rust proof the trunk area 11) Replace rear window seal 12) Inspect the injectors 13) Repalce fuel return lines At my pace I should be busy for a while...hehe |
My complete one? OK
1. Fix trans leak, and shifting issue. 2. Fix lock on rear door. 3. Finish rebuild of front end. 4. Finish rebuild of rear suspension 5. Cherry out body, all new seals, chrome, ect. 6. Bosch Euro lights. 7. Euro front end, as body is getting done. 8. New interior wood. 9. Re build drivers seat. 10. Install GPS and XM radio. 11. Replace various interior parts for that like new look. Looking to finish in 2007/08 |
1. Figure out what is up with my transmission
2. Repaint the whole car 3. Fix the leaky freeze plug 4. Measure chain stretch 5. Do a valve adjustment 6. Replace front rotors and pads 7. Repack the bearings 8. Fix the leak on the right side tail lamp housing 9. Repair the small spot of rust 10. Make antenna work correctly 11. Convert sound system to 4 channel and add a sub 12. The interior needs work.. new list of its own... 13. Get the AC working..and make ti R-12 14. Uncollapse the fuel tank 15. Figure out why im only getting 21 mpg weekly |
1: get it repainted
2: find the euro headlights 3:fix the injector leak on the number 4 injector 4:try to figure out why the rear headrests arent going back down! Update: 1: got it repainted...twice...from cool vanilla to midnight blue metallic. 2:found the euro lights...sold them put the 95 hood on the car with 2nd paint job and put the 95 euros on it...then sold the 95 euros and now am waiting for my ebay headlights to do my HID retrofit 3:injector stopped leaking....:confused: 4:headrests went back down on their own..:confused: New list: 1:put in new differential mounts 2:put in AMG suspension 3:put in 5-speed tranny 4:find a 55-trim turbo from a 3.5L 603 and super turbo the engine!! :nos: |

the '82 SD
1) change all fluids and filters 2) rebuild both front seat bottoms and elevation motors/switches 3) buy new tires 4) buy new floor mats 5) find plastic trim pieces for front seats (blue) the '84 SD 1) citrus flush cooling system (done last year but still foul) 2) trim and glue dash cap 3) replace rear window regulator 4) find and fix rear end 'clunk' 5) shampoo interior 6) replace rear door seal 7) redo crappy rear quarter panel repair (by PO) jeez, these lists are depressing - and I've done far more than listed in the last 6 mos |
A VERY short list.
Resist the siren song of the 123/126 diesels and NOT buy one.
I think they are *fabulous* cars, even with the maintenance, and the public is finally catching on (hence their rise in value these days) |
