All I have ever used is "regular" o-rings. As long as they are made to be used with an oil product, I haven't had a problem. However, a/c o-rings may be a whole different story.

I have a box of assorted O Rings I used to fix the A/C in the Mercedes (and several other cars on the block since they saw me working on it).

Can those Orings do? Or is it a special high temp deal?

Thanks!
I would go to your local autoparts store. I'm pretty sure that Autozone will have what you need for $0.25. That way there is a better chance they are suited for oil exposure.

I would probably not use anything that you purchase from a hardware store though.

Just my opinion.

I would go with orange/red

oil o-rings need to be able to handle 350* F or more. so I would stick with the correct oil orings.

Here's what I found after I did some searching:
"Part Number is 015-997-94-48 and you can order from Fastlane and the usual suspects." -- I checked, they are $.34ea from Phil.

Also some useful info that I did not know in this thread Has everyone checked their oil filter o-rings?

Hope this helps!! I remember when I got my 240D, I ordered 20 of these made of vitron.
