Is there anything special I need to do to put a child seat in an 85 300D turbo?
We're due in about 5 weeks and I need to get this solved.

Nothing "special" that has to be done to my knowledge. You need a lap or sholder harness and to follow the instructions provided with your rear facing car seat.

Typically your local PD or fire station will review your install for you.

Our hospital reviewed the installation when I brought my daughter home.
