1997 e300d Glow Plug Fuse & Light
Is there a glow plug fuse on the 1997 e300d? I think I found the Glow Plug Relay. It is near the window fluid bottle right? I tested each circuit all read 1.5 to 1.6 ohms My Battery was very low also and was wondering if is maybe why the glow plug light isn't coming on?. I will find out soon after the charge anyway. Anything someone can add to help would be appreciated... Thanks!.. Indi

You should be able to see the fuse in the relay. It's a metal strip held down by two screws.

I didn't think the 210 diesels had a glow plug strip fuse like the older diesels. I'd sure check those glow plug ohm meter numbers again. Good ones should read 0.6 ohms cold.

The Same problem is back again. No Glow light when trying to start. The car has been sitting a week. I tried jumping it to see if it was a low battery to no avail. I tested all the glow plug wires I got no closed or open circuits all were about the same (I can't Remember the exact number) It seems to be an intermittent problem. Do you think it may be a bad glow Relay box? Thanks!... Indi

The problem came back. So I pulled the k40 relay apart again. I noticed I missed some cracked solder on the smaller contacts near the relay. These relay coils get real hot that is why they fail. The solder fails from the extreme heating and cooling off. Just resolder them no need to buy a new board. These are a real simple board practically nothing to them just a few relays and a couple diodes No need to waste money on a new one. Thanks for your help I hope this can help someone else... Indy....
