alda question

I have read alda threads until I am sick of reading and have just a couple of questions that I can not find a definate answer to. The questions pertain to my 87 300D. My alda still has the cover on it and I understand that it will need to come off in order make the adjustments. Does the whole alda have to come off of the car in order to remove the cover, or can I break out the Dremel tool with a cutting bit and cut the top of the cover off? I know I will have to remove the exhaust manifold and such to do this.

Thanks,

On the 603, it's much easier to simply remove the ALDA from underneath the intake manifold, rather then remove the manifold.

When you get good at using the two wrenches, you can remove it within two minutes. One wrench on the ALDA and one wrench on the nut.

Remove the ALDA, make the adjustment, reinstall the ALDA and test drive it.

I've got to do the same thing on the '86.

I thought I loosening the locking nut under the cover and giving it a full turn CCW then locking down the lock nut. With your method, how is it done?

That's fine, once you have it removed from the vehicle.
