Krylon looks good in pictures if you spray a layer of clear over it, and Photoshop is easy to download and use.

That whole rant was basically me saying it isn't illegal, it isn't unfair and it isn't even frowned upon by the folks that run the website-- It is not the place to buy a car and we all know this.
Oh I know iNeon, it wasnt directed at you, I'm just stating how crappy it is that this guy is getting away with it, but I think people are starting to catch on, his cars are getting relisted over and over.

Did you paint it yourself? When you say you pulled the trim off, does that mean the trim around the windows?

Sorry about the hijack.
No problem, actually the car started life as Orient Red, but when I redid it, I used a Mercedes CLS color, Bordeaux, 1, because Orient Red was hard to mix right and was hard to computer match, 2. the Bordeaux matched my Marauder better. I had it painted by a friend who paints for a local high end car dealership. I removed everything, trim strips, aluminum trim etc. Most of it has been reinstalled, some of it is at the polisher.

When removing trim, do you actually save all the clips or do most break?
I want to remove my trim to check for rust and rust proof but am scared of all the clips breaking.

Watch-dogs

I'm still somewhat new to the forum and did search for this subject, so if I missed it I apologize. But, what if when someone spots an obvious rip-off artist on Ebay, everyone in the forum sends a scalding email to the seller and a warning email to the bidders (if it's not a private auction). Surely hundreds of "Ask Seller A question" emails would at least let him know folks were watching. Now about sending a warning to the bidders, they may think that it is just someone trying to get the car for themselves on the cheap, so it would be well to invite them to read the car's critique threads in the forum they would know that there are real issues.

This DB makes his auctions private and obviously reads here, because he has changed pics around after we front him out. His bids arent as high as they used to be, so maybe some lurkers here were buying from him before.

Makes sense..and come to think of it, why wouldn't ANYONE considering bidding for an MB on Ebay come to the forum and check for threads? Unless they don't know about it. It could possibly be good news as well as bad for the particular car. Either way, the bidder would have more to info work with, especially if they are not willing to have it inspected and are new to older MBs.

As many photos as he takes, maybe he forgot to block the plate out on those two. Maybe the last character in the plate is Q making the plate NIA 03Q.

Those that are 'gung ho' about jumping on the biodiesel bandwagon want to stop driving their 760Li and get free fuel. Hmmm 10K for a used mercedes, ok. I'll take it.

Without thinking twice about it.

I don't think anyone with a 760IL is looking to trade it for a 20 something year old 300D.

I can't wait for this guy to come on this site and start going nuts. Thats when the fun part starts!

No no, I mean buying a 300SD to ease the pain of putting the fuel in the 760Li (Li is the new way, used to be iL)

A guy down the street did that, he parked his 540i Sport and got ripped off on a W116 300SD on ebay, trying to use WVO. Another cheapskate millionaire.

So now its Li? Why does BMW still insist on using the i anyway?

If someone buys a $130k car and is concerned about the cost of fuel they shouldn't own such a car, they can't afford it.

Wow.

I have a neighbor doing the WVO thing. He is by no means a millionare or anything, jut an upper middle class person working. He has three cars and a bike. He has a Suzuki GSX, a Lexus IS300, a 2003 S500, and a early W140 diesel. He paid out the (butt-hole) for this car, and is trying the WVO thing.

Thing is I dont know if its going so well. He just had to replace all of the injectors...

The 'i' is there in case we go back to carbs.
They can also make a strocker and diff. it w/ an 'e'
There numbers for displacement is also off like MB did w/ the 300sd of 92 and the 3.2 gassers.

But mostly to keep everyone on their toes....I think they are stopping the internal 'E" designations as well.
