dkveuro: depending on what you'd pay for that engine, there are possibilities...

Depends on price, but more importantly on distance.

(Have you done some EDITING to your posts ...the last one perhaps ? )

hahaha I did edit it some... it would feel wrong to part that car out or spend weeks putting a diesel in it, I agree. didn't know it has a longer wheelbase? Maybe I should finally learn something about gas engines, even though they are way inferior to diesel engines obviously. I mean, the torque for one, and all that electricity needed! what a hassle. and then you can drive 14 miles to a gallon. yay!
I think I'll tinker a bit with it and see if I can get it running properly. 128k on the clock, the rings should be just fine. can't be anything major. and then when she runs smooth, me and grandpa can take that sucker out on sundays! He'll pay for the gas I'm sure!

Actually, I wish that was a manual but it too is a 722 unit.

I have worked on a few D Jetronic systems in VW's and the work fine. You just need to understand them. I definatly would not let something like that stand in my way. Nice car.

do those engines have alloy heads, or steel? do you need all sorts of equipment to test them? can you do a burnout when it runs good?
