Fuel Delivery Valve Leak - Where to get parts?
Hi all,
I have a small Diesel leak at one of my fuel delivery valves on the 82 300D Turbo. It appears to be leaking up through the threads of the delivery valve. I would like to at the very least replace the crush washer that sits in the bottom of that hole, but I can't find it on any of the parts sites. I actually wouldn't be against replacing the other parts of the delivery valve as well, but I would settle for the crush washer. The dealer has no clue what part or part number I need. Does anyone know where I can find these crush washers for the Delivery valve on my 82 300D Turbo? Thanks. |
no,
Your dealer must have a lousy parts man. I was always able to get these parts from my MB dealer. Is there a Diesel injection service shop in your area? Look in the Yellow pages under: Engines, Diesel fuel injection service and parts. They should have or be able to get the parts U need. P E H |
Where abouts in PA are you? I am near Baltimore, MD. I have called a couple of places around here and they are total idiots. Do you know of someplace near you, I don't mind driving? Or have you ever dealt with anyone in my area?
This is really frustrating. The Diesel leak is so small, that I have been putting it off for a while, but the corresponding injector makes a kocking noise...almost like it is misfiring. But it is fine once the engine is warmed. This is a pretty simple fix, but finding the parts is the PITA about this job. |
no,
I live in NE PA on the NY border, a long way from U. I haven't done any business in your area so I'm no help there. Maybe if U go to one of the Diesel injection shops, they will help U. In an area as large a Baltimore, there should be at least one Diesel injection shop and maybe more. P E H |
Did you call Phil here at the parts dept?

No crush washers needed
I'd been told, and so far, I concur, that no crush washers are needed, just replace the O-rings. There's an EXCELLENT post on the wikki forum thing on how to do the job, by the maestro himself, jbach36, though it's for a W124. VERY helpful, and VERY thorough instructions ... if I don't mind saying so myself!

For the o-rings as well as the crush washers, http://catalog.peachparts.com/.
617-0109 is the splined socket necessary to torque down and remove the delivery valve. Going to have to do this myself as soon as the o-rings and socket arrive, #1 delivery valve on my '87 300D is still leaking even after a week of not being driven. |
