Top of IP is wet with fuel on my 190D...

I have been noticing a strong raw diesel smell when I shut off the engine in my '84 190D 2.2. I saw that an injector return line was leaking so I replaced it thinking that would solve the problem. I cleaned the engine and everything that was wet with diesel and thought the problem was solved. It wasn't. Now I notice that there is fuel on the top of the IP. I see no visible leaks as to pinpoint the source other than the top of the IP being wet. The lines are tight and the delivery valve "clamps" are attached and tight. I know that just about anything is possible but could it be the delivery valve seals? One of you experts help me out PLEASE! I am needing to drive this car to Indianapolis next week and would prefer to have this matter taken care of before the trip.

Kevin
