'82 240D U.S. Headlights - Stripped Adjusters??

One points up and one points down. I can turn all day and the lights don't move. I understand how it works but. . .Anyone with any tips to offer on the task at hand?? Things to watch out for? Last thing I want to do is go breaking bits off. I'll be knurling the knobs in the morning to see what I can get to . New to the w123 and car maintenance in general but learning fast and loving this vehicle.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

so I got in there. We're legal AND I can see.

Nuff' said. It's a dirty job.

One thing I did learn though. It helped alot to leave the light hoods off in order to adjust the lights. Gives you a little more leverage to help the bulb against its spring.
