turbo intercooler and propane injection come to mind. There's several pictorials on the forum.

If you want to turn up the boost go ahead. Keep in mind the stock turbochargers start to loose their efficiency at around 13 psi and if you go beyond 14.5 it really starts to become a factor. If you want to run more boost than that you'll want a different turbo. For longevity of the engine I would keep things below 18 psi. Intercooling will help. Intercooling is necessary if you intend to turn up the fuel by any appreciable amount.

I recently replaced my muffler with a cherry bomb and I'm quite pleased with the results .

When I got the SD it had really hard shot tires in the rear, she would light them up in the rain.

Put horrible tires out back!!

Same here!! I had some "Futura Touring+" tires, they still had tread, but would completely spin out with even half throttle from a sitting start in the rain... In the winter....it was 0 traction, I'm amazed the car/me survived, I had to be extremely slow and careful. Then I upgraded to goodyear assurance, they adhere to the road (in essentially all conditions) like they have glue on them. Amazing.

My recommendation for making your mercedes do burnouts is to sell the diesel, and find a 6cyl or larger GASoline powered mercedes. These old diesels are not a burnout car.

If you find something be sure and post it. I'm trying to find a way to make my MTD riding mower burn out also.

I guess on a less smart-alack note, you have a good car, just spend your time and $ making it a solid and dependable runner.

Remove the muffler, branch the exhaust to each rear wheelwell, turn the ALDA to max fuel. When you floor it, there will be smoke from each rear wheelwell. As a bonus, you won't compromise traction or cause undue wear on your tires. The best part is you can smoke the tires even at freeway speeds!

If you lift the mower up on a jack in back, put it in the highest gear and full throttle, then have someone kick out the jack, I bet it will "skitter" the tires for a second when they hit the ground!

I fully agree on making the car a solid runner, people are way too concerned with "can I do burnouts" and other useless junk, there's no point.

I fully agree with you Pawo, both on that statement and on your choice of tires! Are your's the Assurance with TriplTred Technology? Mine are!

I did a google search awhile back on mercedes turbo and got a really good DIY with pictures and such on how to turn up the turbo boost. Try that. I also have an RX7 intercooler that I may incorporate into the scheme at some point.

I am interested in generating some more power for use in the hills. I wont be using my merc for burnouts anytime soon. It seems its already unhappy with me and has summarily locked me out of the trunk!!!!
