Did you try to shut it down with a Mityvac and see what you get?

How about checking the line to the diaphragm with the Mityvac??.......see what the vacuum is when you turn the key back to the 0 position.

so today i ordered a new vac pump thru the dealer. with the club discount it is 260 i think.

is that a good price?

it was a strange situation. i usually do shop around for a part that expensive but i was in a bind for time.
