CCU removal procedure 300sd 83
 

OK, tell me it ain't so .... I need to remove the climate control unit for repair in my 126 chassis '83 300sd

If I had a 300d it looks like the wood trim panel around the CCU just snaps off BUT, 'cause I have a 300sd, I found a posting that says I have to remove the radio, then remove two screws on the bottom of the wood trim before it'll pop off.

Is this correct :mad:

Start at the ashtray and work up. It's really not bad about 6 screws and 4 wire connections before you get there. Then 2 small side-mounted bolts and 2 connections on the back. (Be careful of the lighting attached to it.)
