Not sure how to post pics in the actual thread but they are in my gallery.
Car is awesome. Have drivin over 200 miles. I have enjoyed every minute. It's amazing how solid this car is for being 21 years old. It's weird driving it. Mostly because I grew up in the car and rode in the backseat.(lol) Enjoy!

That's a fun feeling...when I lived in Indonesia as a kid, my grandparents had a green 300TD. I used to sit on our driver's lap and he'd let me steer wherever we went...which was an immense amount of fun for a 5yo.

The first time I drove my 240D, I think I was grinning for the first two hours straight...

Cool, before my family got the 300SD in 1990 we had a 79 240D and a 76 240D and a 63 220SEB convertable. If I had a scanner I would post a pic of that. It was a beautiful car. It was weird. The 76 seemed a lot faster than the 79 did. Even though they were rated the same, I think.

They are wonderful cars, aren't they?

They CAN be worked on by DIYers, and there is still plenty of parts sources for them.

They were very expensive when new, but the things you can't see - the quality, durability, safety, and sophisticated engineering are some of the things that make them such great cars.

Cherish it. They are worth the effort to keep. They still look great to me, even today. Plus, you have one with special memories to go with it from the beginning of your stewardship of it.
