Question Oil in vacuum lines

Which is a more likely a source for oil to get into the vacuum lines, the vacuum pump itself or the fuel shutoff on the injection pump???

If the vacuum pump works, it's unlikely to result in oil in the lines. Also consider the transmission modulator.

Question

The vacuum pump works as I had my central locking system working yesterday, but as I said when the CL system works engine won't shut off properly. Plugged the line for the CLS ans engine shut off. Just a bit ago, I unhooked the line going to the brake booster at the hard line end going towards the vacuum pump, there is some oil residue there at that line...If the transmission modulator valve was sucking oil, would it not be tranny fluid instead of engine oil. The oil I'm seeing is dark black, just like engine oil...Previous owner bought the car 4 parts so he didn;t bother to get history on it. Going to change oil soon, since I don't know how long it's been since last change.....

Check the diaphram in your vacuum pump, rebuild kits should be available

Shutoff valve on IP would be my guess.

Question

If I hooked up a vacuum pump to the shutoff valve how much vacuum should it hold?? Also the same question on the vacuum pump itself....Might just replace both, it has to be one or the other.....

When I removed my faulty shutoff valve, oil dripped everywhere from it. There was no guessing whether or not it was bad......

BTW, it would still work somewhat...
