can someone help me find a transmission model #?

please...does anyone know the transmission model # for the 5 spd. manual transmission compatible with the 82 - 85 300D series? are there any problems with hooking up the 5 spd. to the 617.952 (5 cyl. turbodiesel)? can the transmission handle the torque and the hp? thanks, everyone.

If the 4 speed does, I don't see why the 5 speed wouldn't

There were never any factory turbo models with a manual transmission until the C30 AMG.

As far as the tranny working, do a search, there are PLENTY of threads about auto-manual conversions.

I'm almost certain the 300D was available with a 5spd manual option in Europe.
