Saw a nice '82-83 240D 4 speed in Maine today

Parked on the side of the road, for sale, midnight blue with saddle mb-tex, crank windows and completely rust-free. 138K on the clock and the guy wants $5K for it...it's probably worth it to the right person but not to me...for $3500 I would buy it in a heartbeat. Got a couple of minor dents which makes it worth less to me than his asking price...offered him the $3500 but he wants more

Not meant to be...but still nice to see it.

Hello,
Cool... I'm taking a trip to the "Deep South" (a.k.a. Portland and Sanford) this weekend, not looking for another car at the moment, but I might stop and ogle if it's not too far out of my way. Whereabouts was it?

Thanks,
Nate

5000 is too much. Prices on these cars is getting crazy. I am in Southern Maine and in the market for a new diesel benz. Can't swing 5K for a 4 cylindar car though. If anyone has any other leads about cars in the Maine/NH area, let me know please. Thanks!

I agree, for $5000 it should be pretty close to perfect. You can easily spend $2-3000 fixing a "couple of minor dents."
