No way would I even think about sending $$ to anyone with private feedback.

If you're hiding your feedback, you have something to hide. Screw that guy.

Hmmm he has 1600 feedbacks, and in the last year, 3 negatives out of almost 400. So his feedback for this year is 99.2%, which is alright, and yes, I do see that it is private. For the price of it and the way it looks, I'd be willing to bite though.

It is a calculated risk and I hope it works out for you.

The covers DO indeed look very nice, I just cannot understand why one would keep feedback private, hence scaring off the risk-averse buyer like myself.

LOL. yup. My seats look terrible. Thank goodness for those dangerous performance products fake sheepskin seat covers, that slide around in turns and wear poorly.

I tried to....please note I not a savy eBay buyer...but I did a "make offer" deal for 2 bottom cushions to include shipping, he accepted the offer but for 1 cover and we naturally kinda danced around in a circle. Did not do the deal.

I was part of the problem, no doubt. The guy did seem to know his products. I am not faulting him.

But, i went with www.hirschauto.com

Might have paid 20 bucks more, got great service, high quality, factory like covers and I am very happy.

I noticed that. It only mentions "cushion", not "cushions".

Perfectly legal, all he has to do is say you didn't read the fine print.

Please report how it works out. I had a horrible experience with 4basic covers and shoddy workmanship. If you are only buying the lower portion, you should be OK. The uppers are a b#$%h to put on without ripping. I have resorted to combing the boneyards for good vinyl for my "new" 77 240D. I found a good seat in the wrong color, so I will be doing some vinyl coloring at some point.

I bought my first Mercedes in 1975. It was a 1955 220a. The guy I bought it from told me to look in Hemmings for parts and supplies. I remember Hirsch from back then offering stuff for pre WWII American cars. They also offered some of the best European interior materials. I purchased carpet material from them for an old Alfa and it was perfect and I thought the price was fair. Guys with a reputation like that don't need to sell on eBay.

Hey all-
I just bought a 1984 300 SD turbo diesel this week and the seats covers are in great shape, no cracks but one small tear, but color is very faded and the frames are shot. I don't know how the previous owners kept them up so well besides garaging the car. I thinks that it is the MB tex vinyl but can someone fact check this for me? It doesn't smell like leather and I did not pull off the covers yet to have the look underneath. What conditioner should I use to keep up their good work?
