1993 - 300SD Transmission problems
 

I just bought a 300SD with 134,000 miles on it and it seemed to be relatively well maintained. I have a concern. The transmission after warming up shifts with a hard jerk up shift and down shift. My mechanic said that he felt it sounded like it needed some (minor) adjustment because he said it didn't seem to slip from gear to gear. Today I noticed that when I put it in reverse that it resisted backing up and after I stepped on the Gas (Diesel) the car began to roll in reverse but resisted and when I took my foot off the accelerator it came to a stop rather quickly without me stepping on the brake. A few hours later it would roll freely but was almost like a smooth jerky reverse. Outside temperature was 95 degrees. Has anyone experienced this and do you think it's a big problem?:eek:

What's the condition of the fluid?
