Stand back boys! I now own a manul 240D!!
OK, so the back bumper is almost directly under the rear glass......
Yep, "Scar" has truly been treated horribly in it's hind quarters. Little engine purrs fairly well on just a little testing. Hard to do too much without brakes... The seat not being secured didn't help either. Funny story on that sometime. It was a scare then a laugh....:o So, I can't really drive it around town, but at least I now have one...... BTW, thanks to the HitMan and his dad for the help with it this evening. The guy had some interesting autos lying around..... Oh, and wife is NOT amused!!!!!    |
Pictures pleeeeze!

My Pop has always dug those 240Ds. :D Figured I'd drag him along to share the joy of the steal. He's a bigger car nut than I am. :D

Thinking of converting the 85 TD to manual?
|
So what did you pay for this accordion?
|
Price was quite reasonable. It even started RIGHT up and the clutch felt okay too. :)
Two of the doors used to be blue. lol We used a ratcheting strap to hold the driver and rear passenger ones together as the handles were off. |

Oh, you poor, poor man.....

You can still do pretty well driving the transmissions behind the 617s like manuals. Dosen't hurt them one bit, and that's not something I'd say about american or japanese transmissions.
Edit: I would love to have a 5spd in my 83 300SD though...with a very wide gear spacing, or a 6spd with close ratio gears. |
Jimmy, you're going to do a rear transplant on it..........major work don't you think??
What's the subframe look like? |
