My blue wagon was delivered to a MB collector on Sunday, he calls me today and asks me if I'm selling another one. I tell him "no" and he tells me about the auction for another blue/blue wagon in Houston.

His description is crap! He cut-and-pasted mine, then tweaked it to fit his needs. And I know where this car is - he repainted the hood, he painted the wheels, he put on the white-walls, and he's a mechanic - he is not an MB enthusiast. Crooks on ebay - everywhere.

Stealing someone's ad is against eBay rules. There's a specific line item for it in their complaint form. Go do it.

And he's a poor liar to the email inquiries......30+mpg at 70mph....blah blah.blah. :(

so are the miles questionable? After pulling apart an odometer I see how easy the 123's were/are to tweak. There's a CD in another thread from today showing low miles but tired body..makes odo reading questionable to me.

And 30+ mpg on the highway? I've got an '82 TD and I'm not even close to that. Is anyone getting this sort of mileage out of the TD?

The mileage is NOT right on the copied car. Look closely at the buttons for the window switches. On a low mileage car you will not see the round white where it is worn down like what is shown.

Since the auction is not private, just contact the people that are bidding on the auction and point them to this thread.

Look how the numbers dont line up on the odometer.

Just looking at it, I think he changed enough of the content in the description that eBay won't do anything about it. But it never hurts to try.

Cruising at 80
 

Just took one of our 1985 300TD's to Florida and back. Cruising at 80 with the AC on we only got about 23MPG. Oh well, I am not about to cruise at 65.

White walls
 

yeah..I got just under 22 at 80 + about 30 miles of city driving. no AC..was broken until last saturday.

Those whitewalls are Firestones "house brand" Lemans tires.
