You bought this one for $800, what a find?!

JEREMYC 08-08-2006 01:33 PM

I thought so too. I already have been offered to double my money on it twice. I politely declined. I don't think I could replace it for $1600. Maybe it was the day two fools met!

redassag00 08-08-2006 02:04 PM

WOW. I would spend the $ andget it appraised if you are going to value it. Insurnace companies wont give you jack for it, but if you have paperwork, you may have more leverage!

Jorn 08-08-2006 02:18 PM

I bought mine for $1500 but it's still a work in progress. Don't sell it, you will start loving this car. Is everything working, rear windows still roll down properly, all the rubber seals in decent shape?

You got an excellent deal - be happy!

TheDon 08-08-2006 02:28 PM

Don't feel so bad..........you could have paid $7K for one and had the same slew of "issues"..............:o

Remember one thing.........the more you know about these vehicles........the more you realize that there are many more items that are not to spec than immediately meets the eye.

For the OP, that's a great find.........a good looking vehicle as well.

Very nice, good find!

Jim B. 08-08-2006 03:01 PM

Good Catch!!!

That's a steal of a deal.

But I hope that years later you'll be thinking what a classy diesel you owned, afterr the price you paid for it has been forgotten. That car will last you for years and years, so settle in and enjoy it.

The 300 is a great motor, and the transmissions are real reliable.

JEREMYC 08-08-2006 03:22 PM

Thanks for all of the kind words. I do plan on keeping this one. It is my 3rd diesel benz. I kick myself in the tail for selling the 190d and the other 300d. The previous owner had replaced the rear window regulators and motors in 04 and unplugged them it looked like. I tore into it and discovered they were there, just unplugged. I plugged them back in they work perfectly. The front door seals are good but the rubber seals around the bottom of the rear windows are a bit rotted. Over all, the car is in pretty good shape. I just replaced the cruise amp while ago and I'll find out of it is good on the way home. I certainly hope I can learn allot about this car and go on to share my knowledge with others just as you all have done me. There is allot of great information on this site. Thanks Everyone!!!!!

Wow, I can't believe it!.....

You actually have room to work on your car in your garage?

J/k......nice find. :)

JEREMYC 08-08-2006 05:32 PM

Actually, I took these pics today at work. I keep my car parked inside the back part of the showroom right next to the bosses 500SL ;) Except, mine runs!!! He is waiting on an instrument cluster repair.

Boardmonger 08-09-2006 12:53 AM

Wow, that looks like a very clean $800 car. Is there anything major wrong with it?
