.. ? . What do you think this 1983 200 D is worth . ? ..

Hello all

I am thinking of purchasing this 1983 Mercedes 200 D.

I wanted your opinions of it's value.

Picture below.

It has 168,000 miles.
Manual transmission.
Everything works.
Includes lots of maintainence records.
Has dent in driver side rear door.

Thank You
RichC

A 200 diesel was never offered in north america so some parts may be hard to come by. Besides that if it has no rust and runs well (slow I'm sure) I dunno 2-3k. You are going to need a euro front bumper for that. Looks pretty nice though, get that dent pulled out if you buy it.

I'm thinking it's a typo. I don't think MB sold a 200d in 1983. It's a 300d, although the extra 100 is not going to change the price.

That is sooo funny. I had no idea it was your car ineon.

I thought it might be a good idea to let the members of the forum help with the pricing.

Looking forward to seeing the car this weekend hopefully.

the 200d was a euro car. that is def a euro bumper set up on the rear and prob on the front too.

and because of the euro stuff i would have been lighter too. so the difference between it and a 240 will prob be minimal in performance.

MB made 20,444 200Ds in 1983.

Also, what's the deal with the brick behind the rear wheel, parking brake broken or something?

It's more than a park brake. I don't think a 200D can make it over that brick on it's own power even with the slope of the driveway

I got to ride in a 200D AT with an autocrosser at the wheel and it had some hustle.

Sixto
... stay tuned

Yup, that was him. He was parked next to me at the GTG when we lined up our cars arranged by year for pics.

I'd love to see a 200D. I hope they add it to their fleet too, maybe they could bring it to the next get together. I remember seeing a writeup someone did with pics on driving a 200D in some European country. From what I could read, though it was slow, it wasn't that bad of a car. I can't find the article now, I wished I had bookmarked it, anyone remember it?
