Yes it is in the poll. It's a W126, right?

More likely it's because most of them have already rusted away. But I remember one member on this board (don't recall his name) who had a 1959 MB diesel, but I don't know if he still has it.

I also noticed that no CDI owners voted either. Again there were a few people here with CDI's but they may have moved on to other forums where CDI owners tend to congregate.

I'm also still surprised that there are so few W124's and about the same as W210's. The W210 count doesn't surprise me, but I did expect more W124's.

All i have right now is the TDI but I have owned at least one of each of the first 5 catagories listed in the poll. I used to really be into diesel Benzes.

PAST:

1 W110
2 W115
2 W116
W123 can't remember how many
3 W126

The 350SDL is in the poll, just no 350SD listed. No biggie, just wanted to be accurate - yes it is a 126, though.

Umm, the models that I provided in the parentheses are strictly for guidance and they're only examples, though they do pretty much cover the US-model lineup. The only difference between a 350SDL and a 350SD would be the wheelbase length and I was under the impression that the W126 3.5L cars were of the long wheelbase variety.

350SDL was sold in the US in 90 and 91. 350SD in 91 only.

The 350SD was a W140, starting with the '92 model year, correct? In that case Blevinsax must have a 350SDL if it is a W126, or is the L missing from your trunk?

There was a 350SD (SWB W126) offered in 1991.

The W140 Diesels are the 92-93 300SD and 94-95 S350. Same car, same 3.5 engine.

In the US anyway. I still want a 99 S300 LWB.

Thanks, that clears it up.

That would be a sweet car! I think this model already had a CDI engine. When I was visiting my parents in Europe recently, I saw some W210's with the CDI emblem on the trunk, another thing you never see in the US. In fact the Europeans probably never got a turbo-charged OM606 since they went straight to CDI's after the non-turbo OM606 engine was retired.

Became the proud owner of (2) mercedes in the last month.

Went shopping for my first mercedes, found several that fit the bill. Wound up buying a 1969 220D. My wife drove it for the first time and said that I had to get her one. So I bought her a 1980 300SD. Now I've got to sell her 1999 Durango. Anybody in the market?
