Need Help On What Compressor Seals To Get
I Have A Delphi, 4354, Sae J639, Part# 1134354, Code 021371418, Rotary Compressor That I'm Putting On A 1980 300d. The Seals On The Old Compressor Were Different. The Old Compressor Was Different. All I Could See On The Old Compressor Was The Words Remanufactured. I Got Some Seals From A Napa Store But They Dont Seem Right. He Had A Difficult Time Trying To Find What He Thought Would Fit. They Are Smaller Than The Reset Space On The Compressor. Anyone Know What I Need Or Is There W Site That Can Help Me. Thanks Ray M

There is an AC Delco seal washer kit that has the items needed. It is p/n 2724887. You will need to find a AC Delco distributor to get it. Somewhere on here it was mentioned a while back that NAPA carried the same item. I don't know what the NAPA p/n is. You should be able to find it if you do a search.

compressor measurements
These are the measurements on the compressor, on the old and new gaskets and the hose assembly block. The diagram is from the gaskets I got from NAPA.
Hope this will help. RAY M Last edited by ray m; 11-02-2007 at 10:22 PM. |

The green seal that you have is correct for the discharge side. You need NAPA part #407279 (approx $3) for the suction side. It has a larger diameter to fit the larger port on the suction side. It is also slightly thinner than the red seal.

When I changed out my compressor with a stepped port model, I did not use the pilots. It would have been good, I am sure, to have one on the suction side. (My manifold already had a pilot on the discharge side, as in your depiction.) But the supplied pilot bushings were too small in diameter to "press fit" as per the instructions. And the last thing that I wanted was for a pilot bushing to get sucked into the compressor. Maybe some good epoxy would have been a solution.

My exact thoughts. It barely fits in there loosely. that little caution bird that says no sometimes kept at it so I think i'll leave it out. I appreciate it . RAY M
