engine check alarm on '96 E300D
I had a bad diesel fuel leak on my '96 E300D. After i pulled the intake manifold off with some of the sensors, I started it to see where it was leaking, and of course got a computer alarm. After the repair, i still have the alarm. Anyway I can reset the computer to get rid of the engine check alarm?

You need the OBDII scan tool to reset the light ("clear the code"). Some auto parts stores (I have heard autozone in particular) will loan you one for free. You can buy a simple scan tool for under $70 (probably under $50 now) that will allow you to scan CEL codes in the future and reset them...I found it a worthwhile investment for my '98.

check engine alarm reply
Thanks for the info. I will try Autozone first, if that does not work, I see about buying one. Rick
