A/C not cold very fast on start up
I have an '86 300 SDL. The A/C does not get cold until 5 to 8 mins. up on start up or any time I turn A/C off or on again. I can feel the compresor kick on once it does get cold. Sometimes the cold air will go warm again and then get cool again in the middle of my trip. Does this sound like an electrical problem or just freon? My car has been updated to the 134a system. I have only owned the car 6 months.

Sounds like a vacuum problem if its coming and going in the middle of driving.... Or perhaps a leak and the low pressure valve is popping?
